In trucking, long-term success depends on control — control over costs, growth, and decision-making. For PAVA Logistics, that control has translated into consistent 10–15% yearly growth and a fleet of more than 200 trucks.

From One Truck to 200

Founded in 2011 by Pavlo Vayda, PAVA Logistics began with a single truck and a partner. From the start, the company prioritized stability over speed. Rather than chasing market surges, PAVA grew steadily by measuring risks and managing leverage carefully.

Today, the company operates 200 trucks and 220 trailers, with a focus on reliability and efficiency. Around 70% of the fleet consists of dry vans, while the remaining 30% are flatbeds. PAVA keeps its assets modern — trucks from 2023 and newer, trailers no older than 2022 — to reduce maintenance costs and maximize uptime.

This cautious approach has allowed PAVA to expand sustainably, even in volatile market conditions.

In this Customer Success Story, CEO Pavlo Vayda and Operations Manager Vladyslav Davosyr share how they manage risk, maintain efficiency, and use Datatruck to turn operations into an advantage.

Lessons From 17 Years in Trucking

Experience has taught Pavlo that survival in trucking depends less on chasing high-paying loads and more on keeping costs under control. Competing on price alone is short-lived; competing on efficiency is what ensures longevity.

At PAVA, every financial decision is made with long-term sustainability in mind. Equipment is purchased with substantial down payments to limit interest costs, and loans are negotiated aggressively to keep rates low. The company avoids excessive leverage, maintaining truck debt below 60% of total value.

For Vladyslav Davosyr, Operations Manager at PAVA, flexibility is equally important. The team builds internal processes that can adapt to changing conditions, ensuring they can handle market downturns and unexpected challenges with confidence.

Managing the Cycles

PAVA has navigated both strong and weak markets, including difficult stretches during 2018–2019. Those experiences reinforced the value of financial discipline and operational awareness.

Rather than overexpanding, PAVA chooses stability — adding roughly 30 to 40 trucks per year. The team focuses on maintaining a healthy cost per mile and staying profitable regardless of external conditions.

This measured growth strategy has proven more resilient than aggressive expansion, allowing PAVA to remain competitive when others falter.

Keeping Costs Low and Margins High

Efficiency defines PAVA’s operations. Every truck, trailer, and employee serves a clear purpose.

  • At least 20% down on every other truck purchase

  • Most trailers paid in cash

  • Bills and credit cards paid on time, with no interest carried

  • A lean workforce, with 75% of office operations offshored for cost efficiency

This structure minimizes waste and keeps PAVA’s cost per mile consistently below industry averages.

Why PAVA Switched to Datatruck

As the company expanded, its previous TMS system struggled to keep up. It lacked modern automation, clear visibility, and the flexibility PAVA needed to make decisions quickly.

Datatruck changed that. Its unified design provided real-time insights into operations, dispatch, and finance — all in one place. The platform mirrored PAVA’s workflow naturally, allowing the team to adapt with minimal training.

The full transition took only two months, and productivity improved immediately.

Results After Implementation

With Datatruck, PAVA gained:

  • Real-time visibility into cost per mile, profit, and revenue per truck

  • Clear performance tracking for both drivers and dispatchers

  • Instant comparisons for wage decisions and performance evaluations

  • Faster navigation between dispatch, driver, and financial data

The ability to connect all aspects of their operation reduced time spent on manual reports and improved accuracy across departments.

Sustainable Growth, Backed by Data

PAVA’s success lies in balancing discipline with adaptability. Datatruck plays a central role in maintaining that balance — enabling smarter decisions, leaner management, and consistent profitability.

For Pavlo and Vladyslav, technology is not a replacement for leadership — it’s a multiplier. Datatruck gives them the clarity to grow confidently, even in an unpredictable industry.
